Fraudsters pose as police, CBI or customs officers and keep victims on a video call, claiming they are "under digital arrest". The concept does not exist in Indian law. Hang up and call 1930.
A stranger says they are sending you money, then "accidentally" sends a collect request. Entering your UPI PIN sends money out, never in.
An urgent SMS or WhatsApp message says your bank account, SIM or wallet will be blocked unless you "update KYC" through a link or APK. The link is the trap.
A WhatsApp or Telegram message offers easy money for liking videos or rating products. Small payouts build trust, then you are asked to "invest" bigger sums that never come back.
